Here at Hemenway Cabinets we will custom make your stains to match any color or finish you desire. Whether it be natural and clear coated, stained, stained and glazed, painted, or painted and glazed we have the professional experience and craftsmanship to produce some of the most appealing finishes on the market.
Staining is the process of whipping color on raw unfinished wood prior to a clear coat. Any color can be achieved through staining. If you are looking for a rich cherry red or a dark walnut brown staining is the process for you.
Stained and Glazed process begins the same as simply staining. Once the stain is applied and a clear coat is sprayed on top it, a glaze is applied. Glazing is generally a darker colored thick stain that is whipped on the door or cabinet surface and then whipped off. Leaving dark rich colors in the low-lying areas.
Painting, is a pigmented lacquer mixed to a specified color that is then sprayed on cabinet surfaces. Once the paint is applied we will spray a thick clear coat over it leaving a durable shiny finish.
Distressing is the process of putting dings, gouges and wear marks in the surface of doors, drawer fronts and cabinet faces. Distressing combined with a rich stain or paint and a deep glaze gives the antiqued or Spanish style effect. |
